About Sam Harrison

Sam Harrison has been on all sides of creative communications, marketing and branding – the agency and freelance side, the client and corporate side and, most recently, the academic and consulting side.

He is an in-demand professional speaker and member of the National Speakers Association, presenting highly rated seminars and keynote talks to agencies, firms and associations throughout North America and beyond.

He is on the advisory council for the HOW Conference and a speaker at that conference for the past five years. He is also a recommended speaker for the International Association of Business Communicators and a frequent speaker at IABC's World Conferences and its local chapters.

He also teaches creativity, writing and presentation-skills classes at Portfolio Center, a graduate-studies program for writers, designers and photographers. And he has guest-lectured at many colleges and universities.

He was previously a senior vice president with an S&P 500 firm and has worked with such clients and affiliates as NFL, Major League Baseball, Hallmark, Microsoft, American Express, Merrill Lynch, Quicken, Hasbro, John Denver Environmental Groups, U.S. Humane Society, Arts Alliance and Zoo Atlanta. 

He is the author of two popular books on creativity: ZING! Five steps and 101 tips for creativity on command and IdeaSpotting: How and where to find your next great idea. His third book, IdeaSelling: Successfully pitch your creative ideas to bosses, clients and other decision makers will be released by HOW Books in Spring 2010.

Sam's fiction and non-fiction pieces have appeared in various magazines, newspapers and trade publications.
